Virtual Financial Assets Act and Innovate Technology Arrangements and Services Act coming into force on the 1st November 2018

The Maltese Government has published the long-awaited legal notices establishing the 1st November 2018 as the date on which the Virtual Financial Assets Act (VFAA) and the Innovative Technology Arrangements (ITAS) Act will come into force.

These acts represent two out of the three legislative acts which govern Malta’s cryptocurrency and blockchain framework.  The third act of parliament, which is still subject to a legal notice to bring it into force, is the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) Act
