New Medical Certificate for Seafarers

A new medical certificate for seafarers in accordance with the IMO/ILO Guidelines on the medical examination of seafarers, together with a form meeting the standards in terms of the International Convention on STCW (as amended) and the MLC, 2006, have been issued by the Merchant Shipping Directorate at Transport in Malta.

Part A of the medical form is to be completed by the applicant and signed in the presence of a duly qualified medical practitioner, while the practitioner is to complete part B of the form.

Medical certificates issued prior to the 1st of October 2013 shall remain valid until they expire.
