Professor Joseph Bannister, Chairman of Malta’s Financial Services Authority, was granted a FundDomiciles.com’s Lifetime achievement accolade at its recent awards evening.

In presenting the award Dermot Butler, Chairman of Custom House, made reference to Joe Bannister’s distinguished career before taking up his position at the MFSA. He added, “I first became involved with Malta as a financial services centre in 2005 and was attracted to Malta largely by the MFSA, which has, to my mind, proved to be a very pragmatic, reasonable and business-friendly financial regulator, whilst still maintaining a rigorous standard of regulation.”

A total of 23 awards were announced at the presentation, which took place during the cocktail party following on from FundDomiciles.com’s third annual Global Fund Domiciles conference in London on January 19. Award winners were selected as a result of votes received as well as on a panel of judges’ views. A qualitative assessment was also added to the process.
